Who we fund

Seventy-five percent (75%) of the funds we raise will be distributed to organizations supporting partners in Palestine, including Rawa and We Are Purposeful. Twenty-five percent (25%) will go to the RISE Together Fund to support their rapid response and long-term grantmaking to groups led by Black, African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian communities in the United States.

Many wonderful organizations are providing essential resources to civil society groups in Palestine and the diaspora. We selected the grantmaking organizations that In Our Name will fund based on their proven, trusted relationships with on-the-ground organizers, their consistent capacity to move resources despite increasingly challenging conditions, and their public commitments to Palestinian self-determination. We took care to choose organizations with the following characteristics:

  • Their grantmaking decisions related to Palestine are led by Palestinian staff, local leaders, or advisory boards or an advisory board that reflects the communities they support.

  • They support organizations with the flexibility that allows those groups to determine their own priorities, and offer critical support beyond grantmaking through accompaniment, including political, technical, and moral support.

  • They offer both responsive and sustained funding, enabling organizations to navigate immediate crises while building power over the long term. Over the past year, they have effectively and safely moved money to groups in Palestine and the diaspora, despite growing financial and legal obstacles and constraints.

  • They all have a longstanding history of advocating for and directly supporting Palestinian liberation and self-determination in ways that link the struggles of Palestinians to those of oppressed people worldwide and that recognize the intersectionality of the Palestinian struggle.

  • Historically, they have faced challenges in securing adequate funding due to their deep commitment to supporting grassroots Palestinian community-led work.
